With the NBA postseason heating up, and so is the preparation for the 2024 Olympics. Grant Hill, the managing director of the USA men’s basketball team, has expressed confidence in the selected roster, touting their defensive talent and readiness for the global stage.
The announcement of the Team USA Basketball 2024 roster coincided with the United States Olympic Committee’s weeklong event in New York City, marking 100 days until the Paris Olympics. However, the timing was more than just a happy coincidence. Hill and the rest of Team USA’s leadership had already identified the group of 12 players they wanted for this year’s team.
The excitement surrounding this team is palpable, and for good reason. The roster boasts four NBA MVPs – LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and reigning MVP Joel Embiid.
Perhaps most importantly, this team is physically imposing, featuring the to other best available centers in Anthony Davis, and Bam Adebayo. This strength will be crucial in addressing the interior weaknesses that were exploited in last year’s FIBA World Cup.
In addition, 12 players are former All-Stars, with 11 from this season alone, and eight have been named to at least one All-NBA team.
As the journey to the 2024 Olympics begins, all eyes will be on this powerhouse Team USA roster. Stay tuned for more updates as we follow their path to the games.
