Colin Kaepernick, known for his NFL career and activism, has introduced Lumi—a pioneering AI startup aimed at empowering storytellers.
Supported by a $4 million investment from Alexis Ohanian’s venture firm, Seven Seven Six, Lumi seeks to enhance inclusivity in the creative world by supporting underrepresented storytellers in publishing.
Lumi offers AI chatbots for story development and tools for generating impactful visuals, enabling creatives to launch their projects, sell hard copies and merchandise, and retain full ownership. This platform aims to tackle common challenges such as limited finances and skill gaps.
Kaepernick stresses that AI should enhance, not replace, human creativity. To achieve this, he has recruited engineers formerly with Apple and Reflex AI.
Lumi’s beta version premiered on July 24, 2024, although pricing details remain under wraps.
Kaepernick envisions Lumi as a transformative platform that supports diverse narratives and drives significant changes in storytelling.
