Kalamazoo Forward Ventures, the region’s very first Black-owned investment fund, dedicated to Southwest Michigan. Armed with a robust $50 million in capital, our mission is to empower under-represented business founders and growth-oriented startups in the area.

The team is composed of professionals with varied backgrounds, all shared in a commitment to provide early-stage investments to businesses owned by minorities, women, persons with disabilities, and LGBTQ individuals. While operating as a for-profit venture, we aim to invest in venture capital, real estate, and mainstreet projects to stimulate economic growth and empower our community.

The initiatives serves a dual objective: empowering entrepreneurs who have traditionally faced hurdles in securing funding, and tackling intergenerational poverty by opening doors to economic advancement. By targeting under-represented business founders, we strive to create a level playing ground and encourage a more inclusive and diverse entrepreneurial scene in Southwest Michigan.
