Born as Stevland Hardaway Judkins in Saginaw, Michigan, Stevie Wonder’s world vision challenges never hindered his exceptional musical talent. His musical journey began with church choir solos at Detroit’s Whitestone Baptist Church, rapidly becoming an adept solo performer by age eight.

His phenomenal abilities caught the attention of Motown’s  Berry Gordy and Ronnie White of The Miracles, leading to a deal with the Tamla label by age eleven and earning him the long-lasting moniker, Little Stevie Wonder.

By age 12, Stevie Wonder was defying odds with his musical debut through albums like “The Jazz Soul of Little Stevie” and “Tribute to Uncle Ray” in 1962. Success came swiftly when his single “Fingertips” soared to the top of the charts, securing Stevie’s place as the youngest chart-topper at the time.

Though there were early setbacks along the way, the mid to late 1960s became a period of stride for Stevie, unleashing iconic hits with spirited ease.

With over 100 million records sold worldwide, Stevie Wonder stands among the world’s top-selling music legends. Holding 25 Grammy awards, he commands position as the most recognized male solo artist. His pioneering endeavors, particularly in synthesizer incorporation, reshaped R&B’s soundscape and advanced the album-focused music era.

Beyond music, Stevie Wonder was instrumental in leading a successful movement to establish a national holiday for Martin Luther King Jr.
